I want to be more Eco Aware

My quest to be more Eco Aware this year led me to honour my free invite to UK Aware, I attended with my good friend a fellow Eco conscious sister. Took some items to the swap -a -Rama stand, I can shamefully say that I did not swap because I was preocupied with leaving earlybut passed on my ticket to someone else who may really want some new accessories. You can check out it http://www.swap-a-rama.com/, where you can 'host-your-own' swap party - a very green thing to do with friends. My friend was interested in various items like the electrical car, soap stones, eco shower etc. We watched the fashion shows We also spotted some hand woven baskets that have been made in Kenya.

Voodoo Blue Baskets

I got this lovely keyring at style with heart's stand. It's an ideal mothers day gift and only cost £5.00 which could be purchased on their website. I love it so much, I got three colours. I urge you to suscribe to style with heart, take a look at their website http://www.stylewithheart.com/

In the Pink: What I am wearing

I am like my boots and and leg warmers at the moment, I cant get enough.

This is a better photograph I figured I may as well share, the boots are Bjorn Borg, leg warmers are hand made with pure Finnish wool by Ulla Maija Cronin, the dress and bag is from Marimekko ( the bag in the pic below is from Guess) , sunglasses are Hugo Boss and the hat is mine!

I have been slightly addicted to my handmade hats which I love very much, they are made from 100% Merino wool. The wool is soft and chunky. I was amused when I noticed someone taking a photograph of me when I was crossing the road that I had asked her to email me a photo, the photo was appauling so I decided to get my lovely friend to take some more photographs f me wearing the same outfit. My coat is from people tree.

Felting : Knitting Adventure week two

This hat was hand knitted and worn for a couple of weeks until I got bored of it and decided to felt it by machine washing it. Below is the outcome and can be used as a storage bowl.

Glassblowing in London

I spotted a studio on my way to Kurt Geiger, my curiousity got the best of me. I was greeted by a lovely lady who immediately invited me to watch a demonstration of how it was done. I came across exquisite contemporary glass art and thought it was a really nice demonstation ... If you looking forward to learning a new skill and dont mind the heat please check it out. There is a Spring open house and sale at the the London Glassblowing Studio and gallery, they are open between 10am and 6pm at 62 -66 Bermonsey Street, London, SE1 3UD . For any information call 0207 403 2800.

Fashion School

As a self proclaimed product tester who has a flair for fashion and not yet got a million in the bank I decided to check out the opening at institutomarangoni, Italian Fashion college. Dressed like a brat in my classic coco chanel from head to toe including the sunglasses in the dark room steez.

I decide to enquire about a Master's Degree in Fashion Styling ( Like anyone really needs that?!) The lady sat me down and first question she asked was "Are you british citizenship" in her not so British accent ... I assumed if that was to do with quoting me international or home tuitions fees. She then told me I had to pay £1,900.00 to secure my place then "if" (note: not when) my styling portfolio is accepted the I can pay the tuition fees of £19,000.00 and I dont get a refund for my "secure my place fees".

Some may say I'm just bitter that I couldn't afford the fees, you may be right but I am also aware that Fashion Styling shouldn't cost £20,000.00 ! You are better of studying at London Colledge or Central Saint Martin ( Education Institutions with proven track records. End of rant

Knitter Adventure Week one

Me knitting

I decided to attend knitting classes in London because I knew these classed would give me the individual attention I needed in very small groups of a maximum of 5 people per class. It would also spurr me on to complete projects I had previously left unfinished.

Italian Vogue

I just recieved a text from a friend that I had been featured in Italian Vogue after my visit to London Fashion Week. I am wearing Bjorn Borg boots which I got near the International Film Festival in Rotterdam. The tights are from Finnesse Lifestyle in London, the dress by up and coming designer Denise Henry-Rennie of Bows and Butterflies. The mittens are hand-made by Ulla Maija Cronin of U&Me Knits ( London and Finland), the long jacket from somewhere in Bricklane and the hat is from people tree - I love hats and I have to say it was one of my favourites and have it in red too.
