I never thought I’d hear myself utter those words but sometimes the journey of life teaches some valuable lessons along the way. I used to worry about what people said or thought of me; sometimes I got offended when I felt that I was misunderstood or being judged by people who had no clue about me.
It took me so long to grasp the idea that no matter how amazing I became, to some I was just creating a model of myself, what they wished to be; therefore I would involuntarily become a subject of dislike to many whilst others would admire me.
Self-confidence is great. However the shallow minds of some misinterprets great confidence in oneself as arrogance, we cannot live our lives worrying about what others think or hating those who hate us without validation.
The greatest thing to do is love everyone, hate no one and forgive always. As soon as you have forgiven those whom you loath, you have not only let them go but you have also set yourself free. Remember free people, free people whilst hurt people hurt people.
Unforgiveness is self destructive; it’s like drinking poison and hoping for your enemy to die… Frankly that never works because you are slowly killing yourself.
We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive one another. If you cannot forgive you will never love. There is always some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we understand this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.
We must also learn to realise that we are ultimately responsible for our own actions therefore, although you cannot control what others think or what they do to us; we must learn to control our reaction to their actions.
We must realise that if someone treats us badly it is not always about us it’s about them – it could merely be their due to their lack or self confidence, self esteem issues or need for attention.
Whatever the case be an invisible shield would let every negative action throw my way be bounced back because if it’s not me it’s you.
